Yuki is a minor character in the King of Fighters videogame series; she was first introduced to the in The King of Fighters '97, but she gets most of her character development in the manga that centers around her boyfriend, Kyo Kusanagi who also happens to be everyone’s favorite hot-headed flamethrower. (Yuki has to carry around a fire extinguisher just in case Kyo gets too hyped up and starts randomly throwing his flames everywhere.)
Despite being a minor character, Yuki has a great deal of importance to the series as the sole descendant to Kushi-inada-hime, the last sacrificial maiden to the eight-headed snake. In the King of Fighters universe, Orochi was sealed 1,800 years ago by three clans who each have one of the three renowned treasures in Japan. Kyo's ancestors were one of those clans, and they also saved the princess from being devoured by the serpent. But when KoF '97 takes place, the seal surrounding Orochi broke and he was in the midst of awakening. Yuki was kidnapped by one of the teams for the purpose of sacrifice, so that Orochi could be brought back. Fortunately, she was saved by Kyo and good was restored to the world once again.
Yuki is sweet and polite most of the time, but she can be quite sarcastic toward Kyo whenever he does something of questionable intelligence – in which case, her patience is extremely limited. She and Kyo tend to squabble rather frequently over petty things, but despite that, they are loyal to each other to the very end. Even with this level of trust and affection, Yuki still gets jealous when other girls show too much attention to Kyo. This athletic girl dresses pretty conservatively by default, but also happens to be fond of fancy attire, and when the opportunity arises, she’s not afraid of wearing sexy clothes. Like when she needs to keep Kyo’s attention during some boring event and prevent him from falling asleep.
She might not have any super special flame powers like half the cast of KoF does, but she is still a decent fighter in her own right, and can sure pack one hell of a punch. Just ask Kyo.
